Context
Estateably is an AI-powered platform for estate and trust administration, bringing precision, transparency, and efficiency to an industry where the tools hadn't kept pace with the complexity of the work. Over 1,000 firms use it to manage multi-jurisdiction legal workflows. Behind every case is a family navigating loss alongside legal complexity; the platform's job is to let professionals focus on what actually matters.
I joined early to lead product. Estateably was already in market with real traction. The work ahead was about building the operating infrastructure a scaling company needs: the decision-making frameworks, the shared metrics, the language that keeps a fast-growing team aligned.
The Work
First: design principles. Not a style guide. A set of product convictions that answer “why are we building this?” before anyone asks “how?” Getting those ratified company-wide creates a shared filter for every product decision that follows.
Second: OKRs at the company level. Connecting product, engineering, and design to the same north stars, so every roadmap item traces back to a business outcome rather than a feature request.
Third: product analytics. Zero dashboards existed when I arrived. I built them across product, finance, and sales. The dashboards weren't the point. The goal was a different kind of decision-making culture, one grounded in data. When the whole org sees the same numbers, conversations shift from “what's happening?” to “what do we do about it?”
Then the AI layer. The first production use case is AI-assisted estate statement parsing: turning hours of manual data entry into minutes for trust officers, estate administrators, clerks, CPAs, and POA holders. The people doing this work have always deserved better tools. AI is one part of how we deliver that. There's an active R&D track exploring where else it earns its place in high-stakes legal workflows. Not a feature sprint. A product philosophy.
